Choosing a nursery means entrusting them with your child’s most precious asset: their time. You want to be confident that every moment of their day is filled with nurturing care, joyful discovery, and meaningful learning. At The Baby Academy®, we understand this profound trust. That’s why we’ve designed distinct, developmentally-appropriate daily experiences for each age group. Join us for a virtual tour of a typical day in the lives of our infants, toddlers, and preschoolers across our branches in Maadi, Heliopolis, New Cairo, and Mohandesein.
Spotlight 1: Our Infant Room (3-12 Months) – A World of Sensory Wonders
For our youngest learners, the world is a symphony of new sights, sounds, and sensations. Our infant program is built on responsive, loving care and the belief that nurturing relationships are the foundation of all learning.
- A Sample Day:
- 8:00 – 9:30 AM: Warm Welcomes & Sensory Exploration:Parents are greeted with a detailed handover. Infants enjoy cuddle time and then engage in individualized floor-based play. This includes plenty of tummy time to build neck and core strength, exploring textured toys, and listening to soft music.
- 9:30 – 11:00 AM: Nap Time & Bottle/Feeding:We follow each infant’s personal feeding and sleep schedule. Our educators provide one-on-one interaction during bottle feeds, mimicking the bonding of home.
- 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Awake & Engaged:After a nappy change, it’s time for more focused activities. This could be a baby massage session, reading a high-contrast board book, or a supervised “baby group” where infants are encouraged to observe and interact with each other.
- 1:00 – 3:00 PM: Lunch, Outdoor Stroll & Wind-Down:After a pureed meal, infants who are able enjoy a stroll in their prams in our shaded outdoor area. The afternoon is a quieter time for individual cuddles, lullabies, and preparing for pickup.
Spotlight 2: Our Toddler Room (1-2 Years) – The Adventurers
Toddlers are on the move! Our environment for this dynamic age group is safe, stimulating, and designed to support their growing independence and curiosity.
- A Sample Day:
- 8:00 – 9:30 AM: Free Play & Morning Circle:After drop-off, toddlers choose from activity stations—a puzzle, the play kitchen, or a stacking toy. Then, we gather for a short, energetic circle time with hello songs, movement activities, and a simple story.
- 9:30 – 11:00 AM: Focused Activity & Outdoor Play:The group engages in a guided activity, like finger painting or playing with a sensory bin filled with kinetic sand. Then, it’s time to burn energy outdoors—running, climbing on low structures, and playing with balls.
- 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Family-Style Lunch & Nap Time:Toddlers learn self-help skills by washing hands and attempting to feed themselves. After lunch, they settle on their cots for a much-needed afternoon nap.
- 1:00 – 3:00 PM: Afternoon Snack & Gentle Activities:After waking and a nappy change, a healthy snack is served. The afternoon involves quieter play, like listening to a story or singing songs, as they await their parents.
Spotlight 3: Our Preschool Room (3-5 Years) – The Little Scholars
Our preschoolers are capable, inquisitive, and ready for more complex challenges. Their day balances structured, project-based learning with ample opportunities for creative, child-directed play.
- A Sample Day:
- 8:00 – 9:30 AM: Arrival & Learning Centers:Children sign themselves in and head straight to our rich learning centers—literacy, math, construction, dramatic play, and art. This “invitation to play” allows them to dive deep into their interests.
- 9:30 – 11:00 AM: Group Meeting & Project Work:We gather to discuss the day, the weather, and the project theme. Children then break into small groups for focused work. This could be a science experiment (sink or float?), a writing activity in their journal, or working on a collaborative mural.
- 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM: Outdoor Exploration & Lunch:Preschoolers have extended outdoor time for complex imaginative games and physical challenges. Afterwards, they enjoy a family-style lunch, practicing conversation and social skills.
- 1:00 – 3:00 PM: Quiet Time & Specialized Programs:After lunch, children enjoy quiet activities (books, puzzles) while soft music plays. The latter part of the afternoon is often reserved for one of our Specialized Programs, like Music or Foreign Language, ending the day on a high note.
A Consistent Philosophy, Tailored Experiences
While the specific activities change with age, our core philosophy of learning through play, nurturing emotional well-being, and partnering with parents remains constant from our infant room to our preschool graduation.
