The Creative Curriculum

At The Baby Academy®, we follow the “The Creative Curriculum”

A comprehensive, research-based approach to early childhood education that focuses on learning through exploration, play, and meaningful experiences. This curriculum is offered in English, French and German according to the parents’ preferences.

Creative Curriculum helps children develop a love for learning by encouraging curiosity, creativity, and independence. It combines structured learning with hands-on discovery, allowing every child to grow at their own pace while building strong foundations in all areas of development.

Social–Emotional Development

Building confidence, self-regulation and strong relationships.

Cognitive Development

This development area focuses on pre-math skills, introducing numbers, patterns, and logical thinking through play. It encourages thinking, problem-solving and exploration.

Language & Literacy

Fostering communication, storytelling, pre-writing and pre- reading skills. The Creative Curriculum works on both expressive and receptive language.

Physical Development

Strengthening coordination, balance, and motor skills – for both fine motor and gross motor skills.

Teachers act as guides and facilitators, setting up engaging environments where children can experiment, ask questions and discover new ideas. Daily activities include circle time, small group work, free play, outdoor exploration, art, music, and storytelling and PE - All designed to make learning joyful and meaningful.

Our

Center-based learning approach

At The Baby Academy®, we have successfully adopted a center-based learning approach, built on the well-established belief that children learn best through play. This approach allows children to explore, experiment, and discover new concepts in a hands-on, engaging way that nurtures both curiosity and confidence.

In our classrooms, learning takes place through a variety of interactive centers, each designed to focus on a specific area of development. Children move freely between centers such as:

Games & Puzzles Center

For table games, puzzles, visual discrimination and threading.

Reading & Listening Center

Teaching them to enjoy reading and listening to stories, as well as providing them with many pre-reading stimulation.

Block & Construction Center

For playing with blocks, Lego, and Mechano.

Creative Center

Teaching as well as enhancing talents through painting, coloring, play dough, cutting and pasting.

Writing Center

To teach pre-writing and writing skills as well as enhance their fine motor and manual dexterity.

Centers provide a less intimidating environment for the students and give the teachers the opportunity to focus on specific areas of study. They also bring out the talents and inclinations within each child’s personality. Moreover, working with children in a small group setting allows for more direct teaching and enhanced student response.

Music

children are taught different sounds, instruments, nursery songs, as well as rhyming and rhythm-following.

Children learn to experiment with different textures and materials. They also learn to paint and draw along with designing play dough and paper machee.
