This health policy was developed to enable The Baby Academy to better care for your child. Please take note the following details.
Children who are feverish, have thrown up, or have diarrhea should be kept at home for 24 hours.
If your child is too sick to go outdoors, then s/he is also too sick to be at preschool. Children will be accepted back only when they have fully recovered.
The Baby Academy will not
accept the child if any of the following symptoms are present or have been present within the last 24 hours:
- Conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Flu / Severe Cold
- Unusual Rash
- Throat /Chest/ Ear Infection
- Severe Cough
- Rapid Breathing or Labored Breathing
- Hair lice
- Contagious illness of any sort
- Too Fatigue to participate in daily activities
If a child shows any of the above symptoms while at The Baby Academy, s/he will be isolated (this is done to prevent other children from getting sick). The parent/guardian will be notified to come and pick up the child. The child should be picked up within one hour
of the notification.
The child is welcome when s/he has only a mild non contagious cold (e.g. runny nose or mild cough) and is able to participate in daily activities. In case your child requires extra constant attention; will not play, cries all the time, whines and wants to be constantly held, s/he needs to stay home.
All children’s immunizations
must be kept up to date in accordance with The Egyptian Law. Non-immunized children will not be allowed at The Baby Academy. Verification by your child’s doctor will be required on yearly basis.
The Baby Academy highly recommends the “Chicken Pox” and the “Meningitis” vaccinations with your child immunization list.
Administration of Medication at The Baby Academy:
The class teacher will administer oral medications. All medications must be brought in original containers and handed to the Admission Office. Parents are required to fill out a “Medication Authorization Form” for each medication. The form is available at the Admission Office.
